Of all hot non-alcoholic drinks available, a piping hot cup of coffee on a chilly winter's day can be the most rewarding. These coffee delights bring together some delectable ingredients that make them totally enjoyable.

Normandy Coffee

The Normandy region in France is well-known for its abundant apple fruit orchards. Normandy coffee is a hot non alcoholic drink recipe that combines the succulent flavor of fresh apples with spices for a refreshing coffee drink.

To make four serving of Normandy Coffee you will need: Two cups of espresso coffee, 2 cups of apple juice, two tablespoons of brown sugar, three oranges thinly sliced, two small cinnamon sticks, a pinch of ground allspice and a pinch of ground cloves.

In a medium saucepan, combine the ingredients and bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Strain the liquid into a coffee server. Use cappuccino-style cups and garnish each with a cinnamon stick.

Mexican Coffee

Like many people today, the Aztec Indians loved the taste of chocolate and it is a primary ingredient in many Mexican recipes including this one for coffee, making a rich, satisfying hot non alcoholic drink.

To make four serving of Mexican Coffee you will need: Two tablespoons of chocolate syrup, one half cup of whipping cream, two cups of strong black coffee, one quarter teaspoon of brown sugar, a pinch of nutmeg, whipped cream and chocolate shavings for garnish.

In a small deep bowl blend together the chocolate syrup, cream, cinnamon, sugar and nutmeg with a small whisk. Add the hot coffee to the mixture and whisk until all the ingredients are well-blended. Serve piping hot in ceramic mugs topped with the garnish of whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

Caf‚ de Olla

This hot non alcoholic drink recipe takes its name from the Mexican cooking pot called an "olla".

To make four serving of Caf‚ de Olla you will need: four cups water, five ounces of dark brown sugar, one teaspoon of molasses, two-thirds cup of darker roasted coffee, one cinnamon stick, and anise seeds.

You will need a medium size saucepan. Pour in the water, sugar, molasses, cinnamon and aniseeds and slowly bring to the boil. Stir the mixture constantly until the sugar and molasses are thoroughly blended. Stir in the coffee, remove from the heat and let it steep for five minutes. Strain and serve immediately.
